Best Buy:
Best Buy is the largest consumer electronic chain.
It operates in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada
and China. It
operates over 1,150 stores.
Products Categories:
Their product categories include: tv & home theater,
computer & tablets, cell phones, cameras & camcorders,
audio, car electronics & GPS, video games, movies & music,
health, fitness & sports, home office, small appliances,
large appliances, etc.
Vendor Program:
Best Buy has two ways that you can sell
your products: Goods for Resale and
Goods Not For Resale.
- Goods for Resale: in this program Best Buy
buys the items from you and resells them through their
stores.

Goods Not For Resale: In this program you get to sell
your products through the Best Buy website. You retain
control of the items and orders are sent to you when a
customer makes a purchase. You are then responsible
for shipping the items. Best Buy then pay you your
part of the customer payment (minus fees).
All applicants must be prepared to provide the following
information when asked:
- The application process requires you to
provide background and financial stability information.

- If your company becomes a finalist in
the selection process you will have to provide even more
information such as criminal background check, information
security, conflict of interest, insurance and license
certifictions, etc.

All Vendors must complete Step
1.
Step 1:
- Review the Best Buy
EDI requirements. You can use the Best
Buy EDI vendor or you can use your own. Testing will
be required before usage.
What
is EDI?
- Review the Best
Buy
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
requiremetns. Best Buy requires that vendors/suppliers
enroll in their approved EFT program. You will be
invited and given instructions to enroll in the system once
you have been approved.
- Review the Best Buy
Item Induction requirement. This
is the system used by Best Buy to allow you to make accurate
data updates for your products.
- Review the
Best Buy
Shipping Requirements.
Goods for Sale By Best Buy:
To become a vendor/supplier to Best Buy whose products
will be resold by Best Buy follow these procedures:
Step 2:
- Go to the
New Merchandise Vendor Inquiry Form and
complete the application. The application asks for
basic information such as: o
basic company and contact information
o What kind of product and service do you offer?
o What special capabilities and sales support program
do you have to partner with
Best Buy to Market Your product? o
Explain any new technologies that enhance your market
position o What other national
retailers do you currently sell to? o
Do you currently sell your product in other countries and if
so where? o In what country(s)
is your product manufactured?
Goods Not For Resale:
To become a vendor/supplier to Best
Buy whose products will not be resold by Best Buy follow
these procedures after you've completed Step 1
above:
- Compete the
GNFR Inquiry Form. Then wait for
response from Best Buy.
