How Do You Get Your Products Into Safeway:

 

Safeway:  Safeway owns Dominicks, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Carrs and Tom Tumb.  There are over 1,600 Safeway Stores across the US and Canada.  Safeway is the 2nd largtest super market in the U.S.  It's headquarters is located in Pleasanton, CA.

Their product categories include: bakery, dairy, deli, frozen foods, meats, pantry, pharmacy, etc.

 

Vendor Program:

In order to become a vendor/supplier for Safeway you follow these procedures. 

- Contact them at the address below and provide the following information:  a short background of your company which includes its size, location, geographic distribution point; a description of the company’s primary business address; your company’s diversity and corporate responsibility programs; and a current listing of retail accounts in which your product is retailed.

- They will then provide you with the Consumer Demand (CD) or Strategic Sourcing Representtive  (SSR) for your specific product type.

- If the CD or SSR are interested in your product they will provide you with additional information and procedures.  You may be asked to sign a Non-disclosure Agreement prior to a meeting with Safeway representatives.

 - Other requirements to become a supplier for Safeway includes: 
o complete the General Information for Vendors Form;
                      
o   sign the
Continuing Commodity Guaranty and Indemity Agreement/Terms and Conditions Form; and

o    sign a
Certificate of Liability Insurance and the Broad Form Vendor’s Endorsement form.

             
- Safeway has the following minimum coverage and limits requirements:

o  General Liability: Two Million Dollar single limit per occurrence.

o  Automobile Liability (if applicable): Two Million Dollar single limit per accident.

o Workers Compensation in accordance with all applicable statutes, with Employer’s Liability coverage of Two Million Dollars per Accident.
