How Do You Get Your Products Into Walgreens:

 

Walgreens: W algreens is the largest drug retailer in the U.S.  It has 8,300 stores and is headquartered in Deerfield, IL. 

 

Products Categories:

Their product categories include: baby & kids, bags & totes, blankets, calendars, cards, clothing, drinkware & mugs, glass prints, holiday ornaments, home, movies, key chains, office supplies, pet products, sporting equipment, toys & games, etc. 

 

Vendor Program:

Walgreens have two vendor programs: Distribution Center Supplier (DCS) and Local Direct to Store Delivery Suppliers (DSS). 

Distribution Center Supplier (DCS):  This is where a vendor provides their products to a Walgreens distribution center and walgreens in turn re-distributes them to their stores. 

The procedures to to become a Distribution Center Supplier are as follows:

- Complete the vendor application

- Submit it along with a copy of your product liability insurance certificate and three samples of your product including product literature.

- Wait for response form a Product Manager

- If the Product Manager is interested in your product you will be directed to complete a more detailed company profile application

- The Product Manager will then setup an initial meeting with you

Local Direct to Store Delivery Suppliers (DSD):  Under this program the vendor make deliveries of their product to specififed local Walgreens stores.  The process to become a DSD can take up to 90 days. 

The procedures to becoming a Local Direct to Store Delivery Supplier are as follows:

- Contact a local Walgreens District office and inquire about servicing the store.

- You will be asked to sign a Walgreens Nondisclosure Agreement and the Walgreens General Trade Agreement

- If interested a local Walgreens representative will ask you to complete a detailed company profile application.

- The local Walgreens representative will also arrange for an initial meeting.
