OMIC funds are available to eligible Ohio businesses that provide new internships and co-operative educational experiences (co-ops) for college students. Eligible businesses must be Ohio for-profit companies.  Eligible businesses must be able to offer students valid engineering, technology, business, actuary or green chemistry internships or co-ops in one of the defined JobsOhio key industries, including: BioHealth, Energy, Automotive, Advanced Manufacturing, Polymers, Aerospace & Aviation, Food Processing, Financial Services, Information Technology, and Consumer Products.  OMIC funds will reimburse a business sponsoring eligible internships or co-ops 40% of the first semester wages for each new eligible internship opportunity.

Operation Intern funds are targeted to North Dakota businesses in the energy, advanced manufacturing, value-added agriculture, tourism and technology-based industries.  Employers can access $3,000 of matching funds for each student. The maximum amount of matching funds an employer can receive per biennium is $30,000. Employers will be limited to a maximum of 5 interns each funding round.

The InternNE (Intern Nebraska) Grant Program provides financial assistance to companies in Nebraska who are creating new internships.  Businesses who are awarded grants receive up to a 50% reimbursement of what they pay their intern, up to $5,000 per internship. Businesses that hire students receiving Federal Pell Grants may provide a supplemental application and may be awarded a grant of up to 75% and an additional $2,500 per internship.  Businesses may be awarded up to 5 interns per location and up to 10 company-wide per grant fiscal year. Also, interns cannot constitute more than 50% of the company’s Nebraska workforce (there must be at least one Nebraska-based employee for every awarded internship).
