Option #1:
Direct Mail Companies
There are Direct
Mail companies that provide some or all of the above
services for you.
There
are Direct Mail companies from
which you can rent or lease a mailing list and do your
own mailing.
There are also some Direct Mail companies
that rent or lease the mailing list to you and do the
mailing for you for a fee. They provide these services
through what they call OUTBOUND services.
Companies that
provide the mailing service can do this much lower than
the normal cost of a stamp because of their special
relationship with the post office. For example, they can
mail a postcard for as low as $.16 for postage instead
of the current cost of a stamp.
Price depends on
what you want. You should contact the companies
listed below to request
a quote. It cost nothing to get a quote. Requesting a
quote does not obligate you to utilize their services.
Option
#2: Do-It-Yourself
The second option is to
do-it-yourself. You can establish a
bulk/Volume mailing account with the post
office, print , label and sort your mail and
deliver it to the post office for
distribution.
When you establish a bulk
mailing account with the post office you get
a reduced rate. The rate is further
reduced if you sort the mail by zip code and
the weight of the mail, how far it is going,
the number of pieces, how the mail
enters the mailstream, and if your
organization is a non-profit company.
Visit the
USPS Volume Savings webpage to learn more.
When you use the USPS
bulk/volume mailing service you will pre-pay
for postage by obtaining the
Mailing Permit Imprints.
This allows you to print the postage stamp
onto the documents that you're shipping with
your unique Permit number.
The USPS now has a program
