Portal Opens To Small Businesses |

The new health insurance portal for small businesses is now
open to start accepting applications.
The site was delayed due to technical problems.
|
Currently, the site is only open to five states including
Illinois,
Delaware,
New Jersey,
Missouri and
Ohio.
|
The site known as the
Small Business
Health Options Program (SHOP) offers insurance to
employers with fewer than 50
full-time employees
(FTE).
Small businesses can start using the site to buy insurance
for 2015.
|
To calculate the number of hours worked by full-time
employees both part-time and full-time employees must be
taken into consideration.
Full-time employees are those who work 30 or more
hours per week and part-time employees work fewer than 30
hours per week.

SHOP can be accessed by
clicking here.
Starting November 15, 2014, small businesses will be
able to apply for and enroll in 2015 SHOP coverage online.
