This year
will witness the increase in minimum wages in 13 states and
4 cities.

Many states have tied
their increases in the minimum wage to increases in the
Consumer Price Index (CPI).

A number
of states saw significant increases while others had a
slight increase.
New Jersey had the largest
increase of 12.12% with their rate going from $7.25 to $8.25
(an increase of $1.00).

New York
had the second largest increase of 9.38% with their rate
going from $7.25 to $8.00 (an increase of $0.75).

The
locality with the lowest increase was Albequerque, New
Mexico with their rate increasing only 1.16%.
Their rate changed from
$8.50 to $8.60 (an increase of only $0.10).

The two locations with the highest
minimum wage rate is San Francisco, CA with $10.74 and San
Jose, CA with $10.15.
|
The Location with the highest
minimum wage rate is San Francisco with $10.74.
|
Currently
there are five(5) states with no minimum wage law.
They include
Alabama,
Lousiana,
Mississippi,
South Carolina
and
Tennessee.
