2019 Minimum Wage Increases

Starting in January 2019 there will be minimum wage increases in 20 states plus the District of Columbia and 20 cities.  This could impact your small business. 

 

The States with the highest minimum wages in 2019 will be Pennsylvania ($12.50), California ($12.00), Washington ($12.00)

 

The cities with the highest minimum wages in 2019 will be SeaTac, WA ($16.09), Seattle, WA ($16.00) and Emerald City, CA ($16.00).

 

The District of Columbia will have a minimum wage of $13.25

 

Below are the states seeing minimum wage increases in 2019:

 

Alaska: $9.89

Arizona: $11.00

Arkansas: $9.25

California: $12.00 (varies by company size)

Colorado:  $11.10

Connecticut:  $10.10

Florida: $8.46

Maine: $11.00

Minnesota: $9.86 (tied to company revenue)

Missouri: $8.60

Montana: $8.50

New Jersey: $8.85

New York: $11.10 to $15.00 (depending on region, size, and industry)

Ohio:  $8.55

Oregon:  $11.25

Pennsylvania:  $12.50

Rhode Island: $10.50

South Dakota: $9.10

Vermont: $10.78

Washington: $12.00

 

Below are the Cities whose minimum wages will increase in 2019:

 

 

Emeral City, CA:  $16.00

Los Angeles, CA:  $12.00 & $13.25

Mountain View, CA:  $15.65

Oakland, CA:  $15.00

Richmond, CA:  $15.00

Sacramento, CA:  $11.75

San Diego, CA:  $12.00

San Jose, CA:  $15.00

Santa Clara, CA:  $15.00

Sunnyvale, CA:  $15.65

Chicago, IL:  $13.00

Bangor, ME:  $9.75

Portland, ME:  $11.00

Montgomery County, MD:  $12.50-$13.00

Las Cruces, NM:  $10.10

Albuquerque, NM:  $9.20

New York City:  $13.50

Seattle, WA:  $16.00

SeaTac, WA:  $16.09

Tacoma, WA:  $12.35
