Maintenance Contract:
The printer
will break sooner or later. How do you get it fixed
when that happen. Be to consider the cost of a maintenance
contract.
Cost of Supplies:
The cost of the
ink toner varies from one type of printer to another.
Be sure to inquire about what it would cost to replace an ink
cartridge and factor that into your overall operating
cost of the copier.
Speed/Volume:
How fast a copier can
copy pages should be considered as well. If you are
making a lot of copies
then you want a copier that can produce the
most amount of copies in a minute. So, for example;
- High Volume: over 50cpm
(Copies Per Minute)
-
Medium Volume: over 33cpm
-
Low Volume: less than
33cpm
Capacity:
Look for the capacity of
the paper tray and the type of paper it can handle. For
example, does it hold only 50 sheets of paper versus
150 sheets of paper. Can it handle Letter, Legal, A4,
etc.
Toner Yield:
How many pages can you
copy before having to change the Toner. The more copies you can make before having to change the
Toner, the cheaper the cost per copy. For example,
some machines allow you to make 33,000 copies
before having to change the Toner.
