What Is Shark Tank

Shark Tank is a tv show that airs on ABC (Fridays, 7pm EST), and CNBC (Tuesdays, 8pm & 9pm EST).

The show gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch to 5 venture capitalists and convince them to invest in their ventures.

Each of the venture capitalists invests their own money and compete with each other to make a good investment.  Each entrepreneur that pitches before the 5 venture capitalists have the opportunity to convince any one of them to invest.

The entrepreneur can get what they ask for or more, but if the venrture capitalists makes a lower offer than what the entrepreneur ask for he/she can modify their request and accept the lower with the offer or walk away without any investment.

Significance of Going On Shark Tank
Shark Tank is a great way to get exposure for your business venture.  Even if you couldn't convince any of the Sharks to invest in your business you get the benefit of exposing your business idea (product/service) to millions of people worldwide.

Many of those people are also other venture capitalists who may be interested in investing your business.  Your business can continue to garner interest long after the show.

Many entrepreneurs have appeared on the show and was not able to convince any of the Sharks to invest in their business, but they are thriving after the show because of the exposure they received from being on tv and the interest it generated.
