ACA Employer Mandate Extension

There has been another delay in the implementation of the Employer Mandate of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

The IRS has published new rules delaying the employer mandate of the ACA.  The Treasury Department released a Fact Sheet that stipulated the following:

a.     Employers  of larger firms with 100 or more full-time employees do not have to comply until 2015.

b.    Employers with 50 or more full-time employees do not have to comply until 2016.

The fact sheet further states that in order to avoid a payment for failing to offer health insurance coverage employers need to do the following:

a.   Offer coverage to 70 percent of their full-time employees in 2015

b.     Offer coverage to 95 percent of their of their full-time employees in 2016 and beyond.
