Server Based Wired Local Area Network
Wired networks are networks that use a (CAT or Fiber Optic) cable connection that goes from a computer on the network to a device such as a switch, hub or directly to the router.

A server based wireless network have a server computer on the network that is used to control access to files and printing resources.

The advantage to this type of network is that you can get greater consistent transmission speeds than wireless and it is harder for hackers to breach.

The disadvantage is cost.  It cost more than wireless network because you have to purchase the cable, switch.
