Wide-format
printers are printers that prints on media with a width of
between 17" and 100". Printing to widths larger than
that is called super-wide or grand format printing. |
Wide-format printing is used to print large banners, posters
and signage. The print media normally comes on a roll
and the printers are equipped with automatic takeup rollers
that pull the material thru the printer during the printing
process. These printers are also equipped with dryers
to dry the ink after it is printed and cutters to cut the
media after each print job. |
Wide-format printers are more expensive than small-format
printers. Prices can range from $795.00 to over
$68,000. |
Wide-format printing requires the use of RIP software, and
