Wide Area Network
Wide area network is a network that allow devices to communicate beyond local networks.  A wide area network can provide links across metropolitan areas, regional areas or national and international areas.  A wide area network is the link that allow you to access the Internet and allow your employee working from another location to access the data on your local network. 

Wide Area Network services or Internet connection services are provided by service providers such as AT&T, Comcast, Verizon, Sprint and others.

There are several ways you can connect to a wide area network.  You can connect to the WAN from a single computer or you can connect to the WAN through your Local Area Network (LAN).

You can also connect to the WAN through a wired or wireless connection using one of the following examples.
